I Heart Okoboji
One of my favorite parts of summer, if I’m lucky, is our visit to our family spot on Lake Okoboji, a beautiful spring-fed lake in northern Iowa where I grew up spending many vacations as a kid.
After our excursion to western South Dakota to the Badlands, we stopped for a few days to relax, catch up with the parents, and enjoy sights and sounds of the lakefront. I spent some time practicing with my new video tripod and slider, and thought some of the footage was worth tossing together into a quick edit.
Another creative highlight was getting the chance to snap some fireworks shots and try out the bulb setting on my camera. The results were largely unpredictable, but that was a big part of the fun. Learned a lot, and more confident going into low-light scenarios moving foward.
