This Florian Kupfer — wow. Again, like the Ron Moretti, this L.I.E.S. stuff sounds like it's got the hiss of downed wire running through it. Kupfer's "This Society," out on his LP out this month, has the smell of an electrical fire that makes your hair stand on end. It's on repeat over here.
I was isn't into the Saâda Bonaire thing at first, but this is hard to argue with. This is this is the kind of music that makes me think I heard it in Kansas City at an Embassy Suites lounge jukebox back in 1984.
Mac is back!
Cam'ron's back? I guess so, and I'll take it. A-Trak at co-credited here for "Humphrey," and it all sounds like early Dipset, so if that's your thing. Reebok's on board...
And the best for last. Keep your eye on this burgeoning pop phenom from London who's set to release her second ep of "bedroom wallflower club bangers" through Greco-Roman next month. She's back with Micachu (from the Shapes) for what they're calling an "emo record." The title track is a huge winner.
