#2013 rewind | Favorite Festival Experience
Pitchfork Paris, November
Ok, so it's not like I went to a ton of festivals, but short of some Primavera sort of trip or witnessing Tupac reanimated, it's hard to imagine anything coming close to this three-day affair in November.
The super-late Euro timing made it a perfect complement for a quick trip to Paris. With shows starting around six and going all night long, we could wander in any time based on what we'd been up to that day. The Grande Halle de la Villette was just about 15 minutes east of where we were staying (Montmartre) via the Metro.
The crowds were slightly more mature, amiable and less drunk, and the sound was spectacular.
Best sets: Savages, Panda Bear (despite technical difficulties), Omar Soulyeman, Danny Brown, Hot Chip, Mac Demarco and the Knife (who didn't even play real instruments).
